Elvis Presley’s former fiancée Ginger Alden is slamming the singer’s stepbrother David Stanley for claiming that Presley died by suicide.
“Sadly Elvis’ step-brothers have modified tales and even fabricated some tales I do know to be false through the years,” she completely informed Web page Six in an e mail.
“One brother [of the three] later created a whole rubbish story about suicide years again and it seems like he resurfaced with it once more.”
Stanley – whose mom was married to Presley’s father, Vernon – alleged in Amazon Prime’s “Elvis’ Ladies” documentary that the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll died by suicide.
“He premeditated taking the medicines that killed him,” the 67-year-old alleged. “Love, harm, ache, publicity — he simply couldn’t take it anymore.”
Much more surprising, Stanley claimed that Presley “couldn’t stick with it” amid fears that his alleged relationships with teen women could be revealed in a ebook.
“His style for younger women, aged 15 or 16, made me sick,” the stepbrother claimed within the sequence, calling it a “miracle” that the “Viva Las Vegas” singer wasn’t “busted.”
Final week, Stanley angrily denied ever making the feedback, calling them “bulls–t” in a since-deleted social media publish.
Nonetheless, days later he issued an announcement apologizing.
“I’m sorry for the derogatory feedback I made in a documentary about Elvis that was filmed final 12 months,” he wrote. “There isn’t a excuse for my feedback and I can absolutely perceive why you’ll be angered.
“I like and can at all times love Elvis and being a part of his household. He’s greater than worthy of the love you may have for him. He beloved you. I like you and all I can ask of you is so that you can forgive me for my irresponsible actions.”
As beforehand reported, Alden was simply 20 years previous when she met Presley, then 41, after she and her two sisters had been invited to go to Graceland.
On the time, Presley had only in the near past ended a four-year relationship with songwriter Linda Thompson.
Regardless of the singer’s internal circle (dubbed the “Memphis Mafia”) disliking Alden, he proposed after two months of courting. The pair had been set to marry on Christmas Day in 1977.
However on Aug. 16 of that 12 months, simply months earlier than the nuptials, Alden tragically discovered Presley’s physique after he died of a coronary heart assault on the age of 42.
She says that the pair had “simply set our marriage ceremony date a number of hours earlier on August sixteenth” and was “wanting ahead to marriage and asserting our engagement at his final present in Memphis, which didn’t get to occur.”
Alden, who wrote a ebook about her time with the “Love Me Tender” star, titled “Elvis & Ginger,“ firmly disputes the suicide allegations.
“Elvis beloved life far an excessive amount of,” she famous. “His daughter [Lisa Marie, who died earlier this year] was close by, my niece was along with her, I used to be there and his father was house. There was completely nothing to point suicide, NEVER any ‘letter.’”
She continued, “It isn’t true and easily tabloid gossip. Elvis deserved a lot reward in his life for all that he achieved and did for others and that is how he’s repaid, which is shameful.”
