‘Mission Not possible’ strict gown code sees company turned away from NYC premiere

This premiere will self-destruct in  10 . . .  9 . . .

Web page Six hears it was a case of “Admission: Not possible” for a screening of Tom Cruise’s newest flick on Monday evening — and that the organizers’ robust door coverage ended up making a headache for the organizers themselves.

Spies advised us that  there was such a strict gown code on the New York premiere of “Mission: Not possible — Useless Reckoning Half One” at Lincoln Middle’s Rose Theater  that they watched as numerous would-be company have been turned away for failing to decorate as much as the stiff sartorial normal.

And — whereas occasion insiders swear that the screening went off and not using a hitch —   we hear there was a scramble to fill empty seats contained in the auditorium.

Our sources consider that  so many underdressed invitees have been advised to take a hike that there have been empty seats noticeably scattered all through the room.

However earlier than the lights went down and credit rolled for the seventh installment of the Paramount franchise, employees discovered seat fillers to take the spots.

Allegedly, there was a scramble to fill empty seats inside the auditorium for the premiere of "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One" at Rose Theater, Jazz at Lincoln Center on July 10, 2023, in New York City.

Invitations mentioned, “Gown code: Night Cocktail Apparel (no denims, no T-shirt, no logos/offensive clothes). Paramount reserves the best to show anybody away for improper gown or different causes. Snug sneakers extremely beneficial.”

And, it appears, organizers weren’t messing round.

Bob M. Bakish, Shari Redstone, Tom Cruise and Brian Robbins attend the US Premiere of "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One" presented by Paramount Pictures and Skydance at Rose Theater, Jazz at Lincoln Center on July 10, 2023, in New York City.

However it’s unclear why they have been apparently so insistent on correct apparel.

It’s uncommon for planners of business events, particularly in New York, to get uptight in regards to the occasional pair of denims.

Veteran “M:I” stars Cruise and Simon Pegg, collection newbies together with French actress Pom Klementieff and “High Gun: Maverick” actor Greg Tarzan Davis, plus  Sherri Shepherd and Tony Danza (all correctly dressed, we’re fairly sure) turned out for the event.

We hear Cruise hit the street half-hour into the film for Teterboro Airport.

A rep for Paramount declined to remark.
