Shadows can be tricky. Depending on the color of the element we’ve added a shadow to and the surrounding background, the shadows look completely different.

In the examples below, an identical shadow has been used throughout.
However, the shade looks different on each of them. This is due to the difference in contrast and the resulting illusion. Therefore, when choosing shades for your design, you need to consider what the dominant colors will be.

Completely different shades should be selected for light compositions, completely different for a dark subject, and still different if the dominant elements of our project are photos.
