I just wanted to share a preview of a couple of new features coming to version 11.2. This update is mainly about UI improvements in generated web apps and we will show you new improvements in the design of cards and dashboard.

1. Card design

The card layout is a compact way to present information on the List page. Consistent design, all cards look the same, auto-respond, adjust to screen size. There is no additional information such as field names. This used to require some trickery and now this is a built-in feature. Check out this example.

The layout of the cards can be customized in the Page Designer. You can choose which fields to display and what their types are: image, title, caption, price, etc.

2. Improvements to the dashboard

The two main novelties are the tabbed elements and the folding elements. Now you can include even more information in a single dashboard using tabbed elements. This is how it looks in the generated application. You can see the “Customers” tabbed section which includes several items. You can also see the “Alphabetical list of products” item that is collapsing.

And this is how it looks in the Page Designer. You can see the tabbed section on the left side and properties like “collapsible” and “initially closed” on the right.
